Glenn Youngkin took the oath of office to become the 74th governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia on Saturday January 15, 2022 at the State Capitol in Richmond. Winsome Earle-Sears also took the oath to become the commonwealth’s first female Lieutenant Governor and the first Black woman elected to statewide office. Jason Miyares took the oath for Attorney General, becoming the first Hispanic elected to statewide office. Youngkin then delivered his inaugural speech.

Gov. Youngkin’s speech was part of a weekend of pageantry as the traditional inaugural parade kicked off after the ceremony. Participant/marchers included Scouts from Great Falls Troop 55B and 55G.
