Great Falls Dispatch is a news aggregator and news website. It aims to report on information that may be of interest to the Great Falls community. Roughly half of the articles are drawn from regional news sites in order to create a specific, local information space for Great Falls residents. This is done by providing a link that safely directs the reader directly to the website providing the story. The website also posts features that the editors find interesting, and believe that others may also.
Posts are published as they are produced, rather than on a daily or weekly schedule, so the website operates more like a news portal than a periodic publication in this respect. All of the pages and articles are free to view – there is no paywall or subscription fee. No registration is required to view the site.
The Great Falls Dispatch is independent and therefore does not have a political or religious slant, and no commercial sponsorship. The site does not and has no plans to endorse candidates for elected office, or make recommendations on issues that call for a voter referendum.
At the risk of dampening engagement, the site does not presently allow for comments or responses to articles, and believes that much of that type of discussion now occurs on social media anyway. The editors will re-evaluate this policy from time to time. However, we welcome communications from readers, who are invited to get in touch via the Contact Us page.
The editors are always looking for content, whether from news articles, story ideas, even interesting local images, and welcomes guest writers and artists. Proposals should be directed to the website via the Contact Us page. In addition, events may be submitted as well – the site is happy to post local happenings in the community.
