Vin Bennett has created an easy-to-follow recipe that produces a classic guacamole with a flavor twist of bacon. Considering the collective avocado experience at Carpinteria, California’s Avofest, the winning guac would have to break new ground, and it seems Ms. Bennett has done just that.

Ingredients:

2 slices of bacon (crisp and crumbled)
3 medium-size ripe avocados
2 tablespoons red onion (thinly sliced and diced)
2 cloves garlic (micro planed or grated)
2 tablespoons Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel spice mix
2 tablespoons Trader Joe’s Yuzu Hot Sauce (citrusy w/bit of vinegar flavor)
2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice

Directions:

Cook bacon slices. Dry on paper towel and crumble. Combine all ingredients and mash and stir until well incorporated. Adjust to taste!

Fry corn and wheat tortillas to make chips and enjoy!
