On Monday, June 8 VDOT announced that the Springvale Road (Route 674) one-lane bridge over Piney Run will have temporary truck restrictions on Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10 between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM each day to conduct soil borings. These restrictions are subject to weather conditions being conducive for taking soil borings.
Trucks will not be permitted to use the bridge on those two days. The bridge will remain open to all other traffic and will be controlled via a flagging operation.
On Tuesday, June 16, the bridge will be closed to all traffic between 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM to continue the borings.
Through truck traffic on June 9 and June 10, and all through traffic on June 16, will be detoured via Springvale Road, Route 7 (Leesburg Pike), Utterback Store Road and Route 193 (Georgetown Pike) back to Springvale Road.
