On Tuesday June 29th at 7:00 p.m., the GFCA Land Use and Zoning Committee held a Q&A session with Sarah Kirk, Curator, and Fairfax County Staff, regarding the Special Exception application for a public benefit use in connection with the Turner Farmhouse Foundation. Sarah’s foundation became Resident Curator of the Turner Farmhouse in 2018. She has proposed a conversion of the rear building behind the Turner Farmhouse (located at 10609 Georgetown Pike on the property of the Park Authority) into a retreat center. The center will be limited to 10 overnight guests (weekends only).
The proposed development conditions for the proposed retreat center limit the use to bereavement and grief support. Other conditions also have been added to the application.
