A public hearing to establish regulations on running bamboo, including establishing civil penalties will be held at the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors meeting on February 22 at 3:30p.m. The text for the Draft Ordinance, can be found in the final BOS 1/25/22 Package here. The Virginia legislature designated running bamboo as a noxious weed in 2018, and gave localities the option and authority to control it through the adoption of a local ordinance.
