Jenna Bush Hager has chosen the novel “Black Cake” by Charmaine Wilkerson as her reading recommendation for February.

Before she dies, Eleanor Bennett leaves her two children an audio recording and a slice of Black Cake to share “when the time is right.” Byron and Benny are left with many questions as they attempt to untangle a web of mysteries and buried family secrets. As long-hidden truths are revealed, they grapple with the impact of their mother’s choices.
